This holiday season, Jim Riehl’s Friendly Automotive Group continues its tradition of collecting new and unwrapped toys in partnership with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. Together, we hope to deliver the magic of Christmas to less fortunate children in surrounding communities once again.
For many children, the countdown to Christmas looks like enjoying holiday festivities with family, and anticipating Christmas morning as gifts pile up underneath the Christmas tree. However, there are many children around the nation who will go without presents and holiday cheer this year. It is for this reason that the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots Program began 75 years ago.
Each year, local businesses and members of communities all over the nation begin collecting new and unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. These toy donations are picked up by local coordinators, who are often Marines, veteran Marines, Marine Corps League members, and volunteers. Collectively, they begin the work needed to distribute the toys to economically disadvantaged children by Christmastime.
The mission of the program is simple, but the impact is remarkable. Children and community members alike get to experience the hope of Christmas in a tangible and memorable way. Hope is a gift that lives on even in times of hardship, and this is the ultimate goal of the program. The Toys for Tots program has not only touched the lives of children, but it has united communities all around the United States by providing opportunities to make a difference year after year.
As a business, we take great pride in doing our part in our community, and we are thankful we get to collaborate with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots Program once again. This year, Jim Riehl’s Friendly CDJR of Romeo donated five Ram Trucks to the program for use in picking up toy donations from Chrysler plants and dropping them off for distribution. We hope to continue working together to deliver the magic of Christmas to even more children in the future.
