The Apex Pickup Returns: Ram 1500 TRX Is Back

Big news for truck fans in Michigan and everywhere else: the Ram 1500 TRX is coming back. Ram opened 2026 by confirming that its legendary apex pickup will return for the 2027 model year as the Ram 1500 TRX SRT — the first product to emerge from the relaunched SRT Performance division and the first SRT Ram in two decades. The most powerful gas half-ton pickup ever The 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT is the most powerful, street-legal, gas-powered half-ton pickup ever built. At its heart is the legendary 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8, now producing 777 horsepower and 680 lb.-ft. of torque — enough to launch the truck from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 118 mph. That is 57 more horsepower than the Ford F-150 Raptor R, making the TRX the definitive answer in the long-running Raptor rivalry. The original TRX bowed out after the 2024 model year, but Ram's leadership never let the idea die. With the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 back in the Ram 1500 lineup and the SRT Performance division officially revived, Ram made good on its rallying cry: "The Last Tenth... LFG." Built to land the jumps This TRX is not just about straight-line power. It carries second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, Ram Active Terrain Dynamics and up to 14 inches of maximum suspension travel, riding on 35-inch Goodyear tires — all engineered and built in the United States. Inside, the TRX is fully equipped as standard: a best-in-class 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a head-up display with a 10-inch field of view, hand-wrapped leather surfaces, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, class-exclusive dual wireless charging pads, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. For the first time, the TRX also features a leather-wrapped airbag cover with red stitching and a full suede headliner and visors. Launching the return is the exclusive Bloodshot Night Edition, which celebrates the TRX revival with an exclusive Blacktop upper paint scheme, a bold Flame Red painted center hood stripe, distinctive splash graphics, carbon-fiber interior trim with red detailing, and red-outline TRX badging.
