Each franchise location runs its own service department with factory-trained technicians, manufacturer diagnostic equipment and direct access to warranty and recall systems. We service what we sell, and we service what we did not sell — routine maintenance and most repairs are performed on any make.
Michigan is hard on vehicles. Road salt, freeze-thaw cycles and pothole season drive most of what comes through our bays, and our maintenance recommendations are built around that reality rather than a generic national schedule.
What our service departments handle
From a fifteen-minute oil change to engine and transmission work, the same technicians see the vehicle through.
- Oil, filter and multi-point inspection
- Tire rotation, balancing, mounting, alignment and seasonal changeover
- Brake pads, rotors, calipers and fluid service
- Battery testing and replacement — critical in Michigan winters
- Engine diagnostics, check-engine light and drivability concerns
- Transmission, driveline, four-wheel-drive and suspension repair
- Heating, air conditioning and cooling system service
- Factory-scheduled maintenance, warranty repair and open safety recalls
Why the dealership matters for warranty and recall work
Warranty repairs and manufacturer safety recalls can only be performed and reimbursed at a franchised dealership for that brand. We look up open recalls by VIN at every visit, and recall work is performed at no charge to you regardless of where the vehicle was purchased or how many owners it has had.
Using factory parts and factory procedures also protects your remaining powertrain coverage. On certified pre-owned vehicles, keeping the maintenance record with an authorized dealer is what keeps the extended coverage enforceable.
Michigan maintenance intervals we actually recommend
Follow your owner's manual first — these are the local adjustments our technicians make for southeast and northern Michigan driving.
- Wash the undercarriage regularly between November and April to slow salt corrosion
- Test the battery every fall; cold cranking capacity drops sharply below freezing
- Check alignment after pothole season — Michigan spring damage shows up as uneven tire wear
- Inspect brake lines and fuel lines annually on vehicles more than six years old
- Rotate tires at every oil change to even out wear on front-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles
Scheduling and what to expect
Call the store nearest you or use the contact form to request an appointment. Express services such as oil changes and tire rotations are often available same day; diagnostics and larger repairs are scheduled so a technician and the correct parts are both available. You will get an estimate before work begins, and we call for authorization before performing anything beyond the approved scope.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I have to service my vehicle where I bought it?
- No. Any franchised dealer for your brand can perform warranty and recall work, and we welcome service customers who purchased elsewhere. Routine maintenance and most repairs are performed on all makes at every location.
- Does dealer service void or protect my warranty?
- Independent maintenance does not void a factory warranty, but you must keep records proving the work was done to specification. Having it done here means the record is already in the manufacturer's system.
- How do I know if my vehicle has an open recall?
- We check by VIN at every service visit and will tell you before you leave. You can also call any of our stores with your VIN and we will look it up over the phone. Recall repairs are always free.
- How often should I change my oil in Michigan?
- Follow the oil-life monitor or owner's manual interval, which is typically 5,000 to 7,500 miles on full synthetic. Short-trip winter driving is severe service, so vehicles that mostly make cold, short runs should be closer to the low end.
